ABB Inverter Error Codes
W001 - Insufficient irradiation (Low input voltage on switching on the inverter):
Incorrect configuration of the PV generator or an “on the limit” configuration for the inverter's minimum input voltage.
If this is not happening only when the sun it's just coming up or nearly going down then ESD customers should submit a support ticket
W002 - Insufficient irradiation (Low input voltage on switching off):
Incorrect configuration of the photovoltaic generator or an “on the limit” configuration for the inverter's minimum input voltage
If this is not happening only when the sun it's just coming up or nearly going down then ESD customers should submit a support ticket
W003 - Parameters of grid voltage outside range:
This error signal occurs when during the inverter's normal operation the grid parameters exceed the limits set by the operator:
- Grid voltage absent (after the signal the inverter goes to "Missing Grid")
- Unstable grid voltage (down or up) -Unstable grid frequency.
This error would normally occur during a grid failure, if you still have electricity connected to your property then check your AC isolator or circuit breaker. If both the Isolator and CB are 'on' and the problem persists ESD customers should submit a support ticket
W004 - Grid overvoltage:
This error signal occurs when during the inverter's nor- mal operation the grid voltage exceeds the maximum limit set by the operator.
This is generally caused by too much solar being sent in to the grid within your neighbourhood. If this is happening constantly then it is quite likely your utility will need to adjust the parameters of your grid.
W005 - Grid under voltage:
This error signal occurs when during the inverter's nor- mal operation the grid voltage exceeds the minimum limit set by the operator.
This error would normally occur during a grid failure, if you still have electricity connected to your property then check your AC isolator or circuit breaker. If both the Isolator and CB are 'on' and the problem persists ESD customers should submit a support ticket
W006 - Grid over-frequency:
This error signal occurs when during the inverter's normal operation the grid frequency exceeds the maxi- mum limit set by the operator.
This is generally caused by too much solar being sent in to the grid within your neighbourhood. If this is happening constantly then it is quite likely your utility will need to adjust the parameters of your grid.
W007 - Grid under-frequency:
This error signal occurs when during the inverter's nor- mal operation the grid frequency exceeds the minimum limit set by the operator.
This error would normally occur during a grid failure, if you still have electricity connected to your property then check your AC isolator or circuit breaker. If both the Isolator and CB are 'on' and the problem persists ESD customers should submit a support ticket
W010 - Fan Fail
This error occurs when there is a malfunction in the fan/ fans inside the inverter.
If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
W015 - Disconnection due to Anti-Islanding:
The inverter has been improperly connected to an island grid.
This error would normally occur during a grid failure, if you still have electricity connected to your property then check your AC isolator or circuit breaker. If both the Isolator and CB are 'on' and the problem persists ESD customers should submit a support ticket
W046 - Connection to the grid unsuccessful
The alarm is logged when a Missing grid or Input UV error occurs or due to the manual disconnection of the inverter during the grid connection sequence.
This error would normally occur during a grid failure, if you still have electricity connected to your property then check your AC isolator or circuit breaker. If both the Isolator and CB are 'on' and the problem persists ESD customers should submit a support ticket or contact ABB support on 1800 222 435.
W047 - FW update method unsuccessful
The alarm occurs when a firmware update has not been completed.
If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
W048 - Automatic disconnection from the grid due to time limit:
If the inverter exceeds the set grid connection time limit set by the grid standard, it will automatically have to carry out a disconnection and reconnection to the grid to carry out the Riso test.
If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
E001 - Input over-current (photovoltaic generator):
The alarm occurs when the inverter's input current exceeds the inverter's threshold for maximum input current.
If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
E002 - Input overvoltage (photovoltaic generator):
The alarm is generated when the input voltage (from the PV generator) exceeds the inverter's threshold of maximum input voltage. The alarm occurs before reaching the absolute threshold over which the inverter is damaged. When the inverter's input voltage exceeds the over-voltage threshold, the inverter will not start up due to the generation of the alarm.
If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
E002 - DSP initialisation error:
The main microcontroller cannot initialise correctly the two DSPs (booster stage and inverter stage). The error is caused by communication problems on the inverter's internal bus.
This can normally be corrected by turning the inverter off and back on. If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
E004 - “Bulk” over-voltage (DC-DC circuit):
Error inside the inverter. The alarm is raised when the voltage at the heads of the bulk capacitors exceeds the over-voltage threshold (internal unchangeable thresh- old).
This can normally be corrected by turning the inverter off and back on. If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
E005 - Communication error inside the inverter:
The alarm occurs when there are communication problems between the control devices inside the inverter.
This can normally be corrected by turning the inverter off and back on. If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
E006 - Output overcurrent:
The alarm occurs when the inverter's output current exceeds the inverter's threshold for maximum output current.
This can normally be corrected by turning the inverter off and back on. If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
E007 - Saturation recorded on the IGBT components:
The alarm occurs when one of the inverter's active devices is in a saturated state.
This can normally be corrected by turning the inverter off and back on. If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
E009 - Error inside the inverter:
Error inside the inverter
This can normally be corrected by turning the inverter off and back on. If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
E010- Low "Bulk" voltage (DC-DC)
The alarm may be triggered by causes external to the inverter: a reduced input voltage on the inverter (just above the activation voltage) but which is not accompanied by a sufficient availability of power from the photovoltaic generator (typical condition of the stages with limited irradiation)
This can normally be corrected by turning the inverter off and back on. If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
E011 - Long wait for “Booster” regime to start:
Error internal to inverter relating to start up time for DC- DC circuit regime (Booster)
This can normally be corrected by turning the inverter off and back on. If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
E012 - Error in the “Booster” circuit (DC-DC side) record- ed by the “Inverter” circuit (DC-AC side):
Error internal to inverter relating to operation of the DC- DC circuit regime (Booster)
This can normally be corrected by turning the inverter off and back on. If this problem persists contact the ABB service centre 1800 222 435 or ESD customers can submit a support ticket
